Heritage preservation: local craftsmen at the bedside of Notre-Dame-de-Paris

"Just a few days before the reopening of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, Quebec artisans who were closely involved in its reconstruction - or who tried to be - are sounding the alarm about the importance of preserving their know-how.

Mathieu Collette left his hearth at Forges de Montréal for a few weeks in October 2022 to guide a group of young blacksmiths in Alsace, eastern France. 

I could never have imagined doing this. It makes me realize that we still need blacksmiths. For me, it's confirmation of the importance of the skills I'm born with.
