biscayne trade axe
The biscayne trade axe , also known as the Biscayan, is one of the earliest types of axe to be found in Quebec. It was frequently used as currency in the fur trade.
It is the first artifact chosen by Mathieu Collette to develop an original research approach specific to Forges de Montréal. It embodies the preservation of traditional techniques: the materialization of intangible heritage.
A custom-made leather case is included.
