Exploreshop and the work of the blacksmith in this dynamic day!

Whether you're used to working with your hands or not, our blacksmith-trainers will guide you through the process of making your own integral knife, a forging classic.

With its minimalist design, its blade and folded handle form a single aesthetic and practical piece, just like a pocket knife. At the end of this workshop, you'll go home with your knife!

Level : beginner

Prerequisites : none

Durée : une journée, de 9h à 17h ou deux soirs de semaine, de 18h à 22h. 

Age : For all participants aged 16 to 17, an accompanying adult must take part in the activity with the minor, for the duration of the activity. The accompanying adult must pay for his/her own seat on workshop. Participants aged 18 and over may take part on their own.

Cost : 330$ + taxes

Other details: Bring a lunch and a bottle of water; a fridge and microwave will be provided. Please wear natural clothing (jeans, cotton, etc.) and sturdy, closed-toe shoes. All tools will be provided on site.

Goals and creation :

• Familiarize yourself with the shop and safety rules
• Learn how to maintain the blacksmith's fire, how to handle tools and how to have the right reflexes when moving around the shop
• Experiment with forging techniques (sharpening, drawing, remolding, pointing, quenching, stress-relieving tempering, etc.)
• Creation of an integral knife
