Description
This workshop allows you to experience all the techniques of traditional blacksmithing in 2 days, through 5 objects. This workshop was developed by our founder and blacksmith Mathieu Collette after more than 20 years in the trade. He designed workshop with the aim of making all traditional blacksmithing techniques accessible and understandable to you, enabling you to put them into practice immediately at a unique shop , organized and equipped by accredited and internationally-recognized professionals.
Whether you're used to working with your hands or not, our blacksmith trainers will guide you through shop, fire maintenance and basic traditional blacksmithing techniques. At the end of workshop, you'll go home with your creations, and the skills you need to forge on your own!
Level: beginner
Language: Our courses are mainly taught in French. However, for those who prefer instruction in English, we recommend enrolling in a private or semi-private course.
Prerequisites: none
Duration: two days, 9am to 5pm or four weeknights, 6pm to 10pm .
Age : For all participants aged 16 or 17an accompanying adult must take part in the activity with the minor, for the duration of the activity. The accompanying adult must pay for his/her own seat on workshop. Participants aged 18 and over may take part on their own.
Cost : 650$ + taxes

Other details: Bring a lunch and a bottle of water; a fridge and microwave will be available. Please wear natural clothing (jeans, cotton, etc.) and sturdy, closed-toe shoes. All tools will be provided on site.
Objectives and creations :
- Familiarize yourself with theshop forge and safety rules
- Learn how to maintain a blacksmith's fire, handle tools and learn the correct movement reflexes.
- Experiment with traditional blacksmithing iron and steel techniques (remelting, pointing, perforating, twisting, fire welding, quenching, finishing, etc.)
- Creation of nails, a punch, a metal chisel, a fire pick, an 'S' hook and a coat rack.
